Mumbai and Karachi are the world’s cheapest cities in 2013 according to a survey conducted by Economist. It is pertinent to note that while Asia and Australia is home to 11 of the 20 most expensive cities, the region is also home to 6 of the 10 cheapest cities in the world. New Delhi is at number 3 in this list and according to experts; Income inequality means that household spending levels are low on per capita basis, which has kept prices down in India, especially by western standards.
